The Journal of
Appliances Worth Keeping.
Every appliance on this site has lived in a real home โ made real coffee, cleaned real floors, survived real laundry. We write it all down.
It Started With a Mediocre Blender
In 2023, our founder Rachel was replacing a blender for the third time in two years. Every “top-rated” list she found was written by someone who clearly never used the machine. She wanted a journal, not a listicle.
So she started Health Wise Journal โ a place where every appliance is bought with our own money and lived with for weeks before we write a single word. If a vacuum tangles, if an oven heats unevenly, we say exactly that.
Today we’re a small team based in Boston, Massachusetts, and we’ve lived with over 140 appliances โ helping readers skip the duds and keep the keepers.
What We Stand For
Four promises we’ve kept since day one.
Total Independence
Brands cannot pay for a review or influence a verdict. If an appliance is mediocre, we call it mediocre.
Bought, Not Borrowed
Every appliance is purchased at retail price with our own money. No free units, no previews.
One Clear Verdict
Every review ends in a single score and a plain-English recommendation. No hedging. Read our Disclosure.
Re-Reviewed Yearly
Appliances are re-tested every year. When something better comes along, we update โ even if it means changing a favorite.
